Originally from Three Rivers, MI, Dylan Tolbert has lived in the Kalamazoo area since 2018. Since then he has played at various venues in the Southwest Michigan area. Vocalist, drummer, pianist, and guitarist are just a few words to explain the talented multi-instrumentalist. Cover music from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Marvin Gaye, U2, Elvis, and Chris Stapleton are also in Tolbert’s repertoire. March 29th, 2021 marked the date of Tolbert’s first album, “Tolbert Drive”, which is streaming on all music streaming platforms.

arth Radio are storytellers of a future yet to be realized. This Grand Rapids Future-Soul group consists of Justin Avdek (bass, vox), Hannah Laine (keys, vox), Dutcher Snedeker (keys, synth), and David Ward (drums, percussion). The band formed in 2017 when Avdek brought these unique West Michigan musicians together for a spontaneous recording collaboration, which turned into a progressive project, birthed from a shared passion of neo-soul and sonic ingenuity. You’ll hear elements of funk, rock, soul, and progressive jazz, reminiscent of Hiatus Kaiyote, Erykah Badu, Radiohead, and Knower, melded together into a sound that is uniquely Earth Radio.

Fake Baseball is an eclectic art-pop band based in Kalamazoo, MI. Fake Baseball bends pop music on its ear, and builds engaging soundscapes, with consideration toward making those booties drop. Jacob Rollins is a dedicated multi instrumentalist who is rooted in the tradition of the delta blues. While he takes the lessons from the old blues masters, he brings the style to new forefronts. His specialties include harmonica, slide guitar, as well as a deep soulful vocal style. Jacob takes the roots of the blues, an influence he wears on his sleeve and makes his own.

JOSIAH DENOOYER is a multi-faceted musician and composer from Grand Rapids, MI currently located in Kalamazoo, MI. Music has been in Josiah’s blood since he was a toddler banging on pots and pans on the kitchen floor. When he was seven, this passion for creating sound was channelled into studying piano, which opened up a whole world of musical possibility. He was then drawn to the drums and began participating in WMHFA, a music education program in Grand Rapids. There, he played percussion in Drumline, Concert Band, numerous other small ensembles, and eventually the group that shaped him the most musically: jazz band.

Kait has been playing guitar and writing songs since the summer of 2001. Her writing is deeply personal and universal.

Local Spins also named her an Artist to Watch for 2022. Even Pure Michigan has embraced the native songbird, featuring her track “Torch Lake Breeze” on their Summer playlist. She has the versatility of Taylor Swift, the lyrical style of Olivia Rodrigo, with the All American feel of Carrie Underwood. ​ Kanin has been making music since she can remember. As a joy filled powerhouse, Kanin’s undeniable gifts as a singer, songwriter, musician and performer demand the listener’s attention. Her voice captures open hearts with both a fierce intensity and a tender touch of warmth. You can find Kanin Wren's singles on all streaming platforms. Kanin is currently working on putting together her first original full length record with the intention of release in 2024. Her style is constantly growing and developing and she is excited to create something unique with her voice lending to the Americana and Pop genres.

Keith Hall has established himself as a passionate educator and joyful performer over the last 25 years. For 12 years, Keith spent much of his time touring worldwide and recording with Curtis Stigers. Hall has also performed with the likes of Betty Carter, Sir Roland Hanna, Michael Phillip Mossman, New York Voices, Janis Siegel, Terrell Stafford, Steve Wilson and many others. He continues to tour and record with his critically acclaimed NYC-based trio TRI-FI. Hall lived and worked in New York City for nine years performing in a multitude of musical contexts and was a regular sub on Broadway’s Lion King. He toured Europe in the American Music Abroad Program with the Latin-jazz quartet, Grupo Yanqui. Hall is Jazz Drum Set Professor at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo MI, where he holds his annual Summer Drum Intensive. He is the author Jazz Drums Now! Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, and the radio host for Jazz Currents on WMUK, the NPR affiliate in Kalamazoo, Mich. Hall is a clinician for Remo Drumheads, Yamaha Drums, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Zildjian Cymbals.

Sammie Hershock is a Michigan-based singer songwriter with songs that catch your ear and grab you by the soul. Classically trained and working as a music teacher for over ten years, Sammie brings a unique depth to her original songs. Since coming onto the songwriters scene in mid 2021 she has pulled people into her sphere quickly. She’s since released an EP and three singles, received a “One-to-Watch” nomination from Nashville Songwriters Association, won the NSAI mid-michigan Chapter Songwriting Contest, and won the hearts of people all over Michigan. Sammie’s keyboard led performances offer detailed melodic lines- contrasted with lyrics and feelings as grounded and heartfelt as she is.

A native of Uganda, East Africa; Samuel Nalangira is a folk/world musician, dancer and choreographer who has been performing since his childhood and detaching since the age of 15. He has toured across Europe, United States, Canada, and Asia performing and leading workshops in schools, universities, festivals and community centers.

Selkie is a trio of dynamic Celtic musicians who play traditional music and original music with a trademark intensity and drive. The sounds of flute, fiddle, bouzouki, banjo, guitar, accordion, and harp are woven into Selkie's music, along with the vocal harmonies they use for their songs. Selkie members Jim Spalink, Michele Venegas, and Cara Lieurance have also performed with Michigan-based Celtic bands An Dro, Fonn Mohr, Archive, Merry Sisters of Fate, Amadaun, and Whiskey Before Breakfast. The trio bonded through previous musical projects and a love of sharing Celtic music with others.

Silian is a six piece band based in Paw Paw, Michigan. Their blend of jazz, folk, metal, blues, and psychedelia gives each song a unique and eccentric sound.

The Schrock Bros Band is a Michigan based Americana/ blues ensemble that features soulful lead vocals, family harmony, and solid musicianship. The Schrock Bros perform original music peppered with a collection of nuggets from the Americana archives. Over the past 10 years the quintet has performed at a multitude of festivals, concerts, clubs, and special events. In June of 2023 they released their first full length recording entitled ‘Faith In Love’ , the 2024 ‘Best Blues/Soul Album’ WYCE Jammie award winner!

Cori Terry, Wellspring’s Founder and Artistic Director, was born in Brooklyn and attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She completed her dance training in New York City and joined the Erick Hawkins Dance Company in 1974. Cori performed and taught in major cities throughout the United States and Europe. In 1980, Cori came to Kalamazoo as artist-in-residence at Western Michigan University. Then, in the 1980-81 season she formed Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers.

Wilson Thicket has the acoustic soul of an Appalachian string band, but there is more to this Thicket than just a patch of bluegrass! Wilson Thicket combines a hand-picked group of the top singers, instrumentalists, and songwriters that Michigan has to offer, with decades of performing experience under their collective belts. Old school favorites, creative covers, and dynamic original songs are all delivered with strong doses of vocal harmony and creative instrumental mastery.
