Vocalist, drummer, pianist, and guitarist are just a few words to explain the talented multi-instrumentalist. Cover music from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Marvin Gaye, U2, Elvis, and Chris Stapleton are also in Tolbert’s repertoire. March 29th, 2021 marked the date of Tolbert’s first album, “Tolbert Drive”, which is streaming on all music streaming platforms.

The band formed in 2017 when Avdek brought these unique West Michigan musicians together for a spontaneous recording collaboration, which turned into a progressive project, birthed from a shared passion of neo-soul and sonic ingenuity. You’ll hear elements of funk, rock, soul, and progressive jazz, reminiscent of Hiatus Kaiyote, Erykah Badu, Radiohead, and Knower, melded together into a sound that is uniquely Earth Radio.

JOSIAH DENOOYER is a multi-faceted musician and composer from Grand Rapids, MI currently located in Kalamazoo, MI. Music has been in Josiah’s blood since he was a toddler banging on pots and pans on the kitchen floor. When he was seven, this passion for creating sound was channelled into studying piano, which opened up a whole world of musical possibility. He was then drawn to the drums and began participating in WMHFA, a music education program in Grand Rapids. There, he played percussion in Drumline, Concert Band, numerous other small ensembles, and eventually the group that shaped him the most musically: jazz band.

Keith Hall has established himself as a passionate educator and joyful performer over the last 25 years. For 12 years, Keith spent much of his time touring worldwide and recording with Curtis Stigers. Hall has also performed with the likes of Betty Carter, Sir Roland Hanna, Michael Phillip Mossman, New York Voices, Janis Siegel, Terrell Stafford, Steve Wilson and many others. He continues to tour and record with his critically acclaimed NYC-based trio TRI-FI. Hall lived and worked in New York City for nine years performing in a multitude of musical contexts and was a regular sub on Broadway’s Lion King. He toured Europe in the American Music Abroad Program with the Latin-jazz quartet, Grupo Yanqui. Hall is Jazz Drum Set Professor at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo MI, where he holds his annual Summer Drum Intensive. He is the author Jazz Drums Now! Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, and the radio host for Jazz Currents on WMUK, the NPR affiliate in Kalamazoo, Mich. Hall is a clinician for Remo Drumheads, Yamaha Drums, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Zildjian Cymbals.

Sammie Hershock is a Michigan-based singer songwriter with songs that catch your ear and grab you by the soul. Classically trained and working as a music teacher for over ten years, Sammie brings a unique depth to her original songs. Since coming onto the songwriters scene in mid 2021 she has pulled people into her sphere quickly. She’s since released an EP and three singles, received a “One-to-Watch” nomination from Nashville Songwriters Association, won the NSAI mid-michigan Chapter Songwriting Contest, and won the hearts of people all over Michigan. Sammie’s keyboard led performances offer detailed melodic lines- contrasted with lyrics and feelings as grounded and heartfelt as she is.

In 1980, Cori came to Kalamazoo as artist-in-residence at Western Michigan University. Then, in the 1980-81 season she formed Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers.
