Here are a few of the most common questions that people have about the festival.


Is there a cost to attend?

With the help of our incredible sponsors, this is a free event for all! Although, some events could fill up, so make sure to RSVP to the events you are most excited about. A link with events and a schedule are coming soon!
Sounds of the Zoo Presents shows (outside of the main festival) are not always free to the public. Be sure to check all events for tickets or cover charges.

What can I bring?

We encourage you to bring chairs and blankets for the outdoor events that do not obstruct the views of others. Umbrellas and shade tents are discouraged as they can inhibit the viewing experience for others. Snacks are allowed at the public parks, but please do not bring outside alcohol to any of the Sounds of the Zoo venues, in accordance with social district and local laws. You may record or photograph all our events, but do not use flash photography as it is distracting to the artists.

Is this an all-ages festival?

Almost all concerts, workshops, and events are all-ages. Bronson Park will have a variety of Kid Stations with activities and fun for the whole family. Some venues may have age restrictions, be sure to double check each event for restrictions.

What if it rains?

If the weather is unsafe at an outdoor venue, it will be announced via social media and rescheduled when possible.

Where can I park?

Paid parking garages and metered street parking is available downtown. Bell’s Brewery has a parking lot for customers only, just NW of the General Store off of E Kalamazoo Ave.

Will alcohol be available?

All venues will have a bar access available to guests age 21 and up with a valid ID.
For alcohol purchase at Bronson Park - Kalamazoo is now home to the Downtown Social District and within it the Central Commons Refreshment Area. You can grab a drink from a participating business and enjoy it while you stroll and shop through downtown. For more information, click here.

What should I do in case there is an emergency?

If someone’s life is in danger, call 9-1-1 immediately. If you are injured or need over the counter medication, head to one of our Medical Tents, marked on the map. if you find yourself feeling unsafe or threatened, find the nearest security officer for assistance.
